Preparation
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Once shimmering, add the ground beef, breaking it apart and cooking for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Stir in minced garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, sugar, and chili flakes. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Remove from heat and fold in chopped Thai basil, allowing residual heat to wilt it. Let cool slightly before assembling.
- While the beef cools, thinly slice desired vegetables and rinse lettuce leaves if using them as wraps.
- Fill a shallow dish with warm water and dip each rice paper wrapper for about 10 seconds or until soft. Lay flat on a damp surface.
- Layer lettuce leaves, a scoop of beef mix, and sliced veggies on the wrapper. Fold sides over and roll from the bottom up tightly.
- Serve immediately with dipping sauces, covering with a damp towel to keep fresh while assembling the rest.

Notes
To avoid bursting, do not overstuff the wrappers. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Rolls can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container for up to 6 hours.
