Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add the thinly sliced onions and sauté for 12-15 minutes until soft and browned. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper, then set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the sweet rolls horizontally and place them in an 11x7 baking dish.
  3. Layer half of the provolone cheese on the bottom roll section, then add the deli roast beef followed by sautéed onions. Top with remaining provolone cheese and place the tops of the rolls back on.
  4. Combine melted butter and dried onion soup mix in a bowl. Brush or pour this mixture over the tops of the rolls.
  5. Cover sliders with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Prepare au jus by simmering the gravy mix with 3 cups of water in a saucepan.
  7. Remove sliders from the oven, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve with au jus for dipping.
