  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Optional for an oil-free version.
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar Can be omitted for low-carb adaptation.
For the Garnish
  • 2 stalks green onion Slice finely.
  • sesame seeds Optional for garnish.

Cooking Steps
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 1-2 minutes until it shimmers.
  2. Add 1 pound of ground beef to the skillet, break it up with a spatula and cook for 5 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in 1 diced onion and 1 grated carrot, sauté for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add 2 minced garlic cloves, stirring constantly for about 30 seconds.
  5. Incorporate 4 cups of shredded green cabbage, 1 teaspoon of ground ginger, 3 tablespoons of low-sodium soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Sauté for another 5-7 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, adjust seasoning and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
