Method
 

Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and pepper. Whisk until well-blended.
  3. Add softened butter and mix until the texture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the egg and stir until everything is just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped ham and shredded cheese until evenly distributed.
  6. Shape small amounts of dough into balls the size of a walnut and place them on the baking sheet.
  7. Flatten each cookie slightly using the back of a spoon.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until they turn golden brown.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
