Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over high heat, add sliced onions and cook for about 5 minutes until slightly browned.
- Lower heat to medium-low and continue cooking onions for an additional 15-20 minutes until deeply caramelized.
- Roll out thawed puff pastry on a floured surface, cut into 12 equal squares, and place on the baking tray. Brush edges with an egg wash.
- Spoon caramelized onions onto the center of each pastry square and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
- Upon removing from the oven, sprinkle crumbled goat cheese on the warm tarts and drizzle with balsamic reduction.
- Finish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately.
