Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over high heat, add sliced onions and cook for about 5 minutes until slightly browned.
  3. Lower heat to medium-low and continue cooking onions for an additional 15-20 minutes until deeply caramelized.
  4. Roll out thawed puff pastry on a floured surface, cut into 12 equal squares, and place on the baking tray. Brush edges with an egg wash.
  5. Spoon caramelized onions onto the center of each pastry square and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
  6. Upon removing from the oven, sprinkle crumbled goat cheese on the warm tarts and drizzle with balsamic reduction.
  7. Finish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately.
