Ingredients
  

For the Sandwich
  • 2 slices Bread Sourdough, whole wheat, or white
  • 2 tbsp Butter Softened
  • 1/4 cup Marinara Sauce High-quality or homemade
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese Shredded
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated
  • 1/4 cup Turkey Pepperoni Or vegetables like mushrooms or spinach
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Basil Optional, for garnish

Method
 

Directions
  1. Start by softening your butter, then generously spread it on one side of each slice of your chosen bread, sprinkling garlic powder and Italian seasoning on the buttered side.
  2. Take one slice of the prepared bread and spread a layer of marinara sauce on the unbuttered side. Add mozzarella cheese, Parmesan, and turkey pepperoni/vegetables. Top with another slice of bread, butter side up.
  3. Place a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and warm it for a minute. Place the sandwich in the skillet.
  4. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from skillet and let rest briefly. Slice in half to reveal the melted cheese, and optionally garnish with fresh basil.
