- Start by softening your butter, then generously spread it on one side of each slice of your chosen bread, sprinkling garlic powder and Italian seasoning on the buttered side.
- Take one slice of the prepared bread and spread a layer of marinara sauce on the unbuttered side. Add mozzarella cheese, Parmesan, and turkey pepperoni/vegetables. Top with another slice of bread, butter side up.
- Place a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and warm it for a minute. Place the sandwich in the skillet.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet and let rest briefly. Slice in half to reveal the melted cheese, and optionally garnish with fresh basil.
