Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook diced bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes until crispy. Drain and let cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, kosher salt, and crispy bacon. Mix well.
  4. Grate frozen unsalted butter into the flour mixture, tossing gently.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk and 4 tablespoons of maple syrup. Pour into the flour mixture and fold gently.
  6. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently 3-4 times.
  7. Roll dough to about 1¼ inches thick and cut out 12 rounds. Place on prepared baking sheet.
  8. Chill the cut biscuits in the freezer for 15 minutes.
