  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom until well combined.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, molasses, and honey using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the orange zest and orange juice to the creamed mixture, blending well. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of the dough and roll them into balls before placing them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers appear slightly soft.
  7. After removing from the oven, allow your cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  8. While the cookies cool, whisk together powdered sugar with a splash of orange juice in a small bowl until smooth.
  9. Once the cookies are completely cooled, drizzle the prepared glaze over the tops of each cookie using a spoon or a small piping bag.
