Step-by-Step Instructions for Date Snickers
  1. Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper, ensuring it's large enough for your Date Snickers to spread out. Next, take your Medjool dates, pit them if needed, and carefully open them up so the sticky centers are facing up.
  2. Cover the opened dates with another piece of parchment paper for protection, then use a rolling pin or a flat-bottomed cup to press them down gently.
  3. Once the dates are flattened, remove the top parchment layer and spread a layer of creamy peanut butter evenly over the pressed dates.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine your semisweet or milk chocolate chips. Heat them in the microwave, stirring in between until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Once melted, drizzle the smooth chocolate over the peanut butter layer, then spread it evenly over the top.
  6. While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle the coarsely chopped peanuts generously over the top and press them gently into the chocolate.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 1 hour to allow the chocolate to firm up completely.
  8. Once set, remove the baking sheet and cut the mixture into bars. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
