Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil.
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onions are translucent.
- Transfer the beef mixture into the greased baking dish and layer thinly sliced potatoes over the beef. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan cheeses over the potatoes and pour beef broth around the edges. Optionally drizzle with milk.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes
For uniform potato slices, consider using a mandoline. Keep foil on for the first half of baking to avoid over-browning.
