Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat, then whisk in 2 cups of granulated sugar until fully combined.
- Let the mixture cool slightly before adding 4 large eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, whisking until shiny and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, sift together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, ½ teaspoon of baking powder, and ¼ teaspoon of salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
- For extra fudginess, stir in 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes; check for doneness with a toothpick.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares.
- Melt your choice of candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth, then drizzle over the brownies.
- Top each square with mini candy bows or holiday sprinkles.
- Allow the decorations to set for about 15-20 minutes, or refrigerate for 10 minutes.
