Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with melted unsalted butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine whole milk, vanilla extract, and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Add all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
  4. Spoon the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking pan. Do not stir.
  5. Sprinkle brown sugar over the top, then carefully pour hot water evenly over the ingredients.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown on top with a slightly jiggly center.
  7. Mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle over the hot cobbler immediately after removing from the oven.
  8. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving, ideally warm with ice cream.
