- In a small bowl, combine warm water, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Pour in yeast mixture and melted butter, mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead dough on floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place in oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours.
- Punch down dough and divide into 8 portions. Roll each into an 18-inch rope and shape into pretzels.
