- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat, then mix in 2 cups of granulated sugar until well combined. Beat in 4 large eggs, then stir in 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, ¾ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, ½ teaspoon of baking powder, and ¼ teaspoon of salt. Gradually fold this into the wet mixture and optionally stir in ½ cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
